<span style="float:left;color:wheat;font-size:120px;line-height:80px;padding-top:5px;font-family: arial narrow;">O</span>
One of my favorite things to do is portrait photography, I feel it offers the most opportunity for one to be truly creative. Candid or photo-journalistic style at a wedding is the bulk of the work, the documentation of the day-extremely important and valuable, but for great candids, there is a certain amount of luck and stamina involved, oh yeah-experience don't hurt either. In portrait photography, being in the studio or on location has nothing to do with timing, luck or being in the right place at the right time. It has everything to do with experience, lighting, concept and knowing what you want. My favorite type of portraiture is what some may call editorial...having a concept or theme, perhaps building a set and lighting to create a mood.

<div id="attachment_239" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 490px"><img class="size-full wp-image-239" style="border: 2px solid black;" title="portrait photography, editorial photography, studio photography" src="http://alfonsepaganophotographyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/rowebound-018630.jpg" alt="bodybuilder" width="480" height="480" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Fabrice Bound</p></div>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>

These particular portraits are studio set ups with a white box as a set... they are part of an ongoing series called "Bound". After shooting a number of models I decided to see what I could do with a bride. The young woman is Marie and she is an actual bride whose wedding I photographed this year in New York. The possibilities are endless and I plan many many more like this.

<div id="attachment_236" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 387px"><img class="size-full wp-image-236" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Wedding portrait.portrait photography, editorial photography, studio photography" src="http://alfonsepaganophotographyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/matie-gmarie-g-018832.jpg" alt="bride in studio" width="377" height="480" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Hollywood 1940 Style</p></div>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="float:left;color:wheat;font-size:120px;line-height:80px;padding-top:10px;font-family: arial narrow;">F</span>
or the near future... I would like to take brides and grooms and make it all even more special and give even more... I propose a separate day shoot of the bride and groom in a real editorial style photo shoot. Holly wood portraits, sets, vintage cars, whatever ideas and fantasies that we can come up with, from fashion to the comical. Letting our imagination to run riot. Anyone up for this? More can be seen on my website at <a href="http://www.alfonsepaganophotography.com/#a=0&amp;at=0&amp;mi=2&amp;pt=1&amp;pi=10000&amp;s=0&amp;p=11" target="_blank">'Healthy Bodies"</a> and <a href="http://www.alfonsepaganophotography.com/#a=0&amp;at=0&amp;mi=2&amp;pt=1&amp;pi=10000&amp;s=0&amp;p=8" target="_blank">"Portraits"</a>.
<p style="text-align: justify;">The gown in these two photographs were provided by Liz at <a href="http://designerloftnyc.com/" target="_blank">Designerloft</a> and the gown's designer is, <a href="http://www.yumikatsura.com/" target="_blank"> Yumikatsura</a>.</p>
